Got a question? We have included answers to some of the most common queries regarding the accommodation on Wee Cumbrae below:
The Island is accessible by booking a boat out of Largs and Millport. Alternatively, private engine-powered boats can buy a landing permit fee to access the island. Please buy your permit before you arrive: Here
Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is 10am. (Where possible we will be flexible due to the tides in the area).
If you plan to arrive late, please let the caretakers know when to expect you.
There is no Wi-Fi on the island, but we do get good mobile data coverage with most networks including 5G.
We have several partnerships with our favourite producers on Millport, such as BBQ packs from Cumbrae Butchers. These are available to purchase at the time of booking and will be on the island waiting for you when you arrive. You are welcome to bring any food and drink with you also, we do not keep extra food on the Island so please plan your meals before you arrive. We have drinking water for sale too but we advise you to bring enough water for the length of your trip.
If you are hiring Cumbrae House we have a modern kitchen with a fridge and freezer supplied.
No, there are only handwashing and toilet facilities for campers.
Campfires are not permitted on the camping ground, only at the beach. We sell campfire kits that include wood, kindling, firelighters and everything to make S’mores.
We only issue refunds If you are unable to travel to the island due to bad weather disrupting ferry/boat crossings.
